Running, Skiing,Sports-Oh my!

You know that great feeling you get after you have just run a lot or exercised?  Well, today my dad and I ran and walked over at my school's track.  While we did so, there was a soccer game going on.  While the game was probably free, it was an extra bonus.  I was amazed that I was able to run eight laps after I hadn't run in a while.  Anyway, I hope that I will get to run or walk again tomorrow, because I want to get a bit stronger before my dad and I go skiing on Saturday.  If you haven't tried skiing yet, you should, because it is such a great sport and it's like going to an amusement or water park in that while waiting in line it is very easy to strike up a conversation with others around you that you do not know. The experiences I have had are always great and often times I have found that if I ended up getting on a lift with others we talk the whole way as if we are friends.  In that way, skiing is a social sport.  Well enough about sports.  I am probably boring you.  Sorry!  I just wanted to let everyone know because I felt like it.  If we remember to take the camera with us when we go skiing, then I will post up the pictures that we took.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the day or night and Happy Almost New Year!

Helping Out Others and Getting Together with Family

Sorry for the long title.  As I said in my previous post, I am going to tell everyone about my Christmas and what I did on Christmas day.  In the morning, I woke up and saw that I had received a present from Santa.  When I opened the present, I found that they were beautiful bright multicolored socks.  They are awesome looking.  Well, enough about my presents.

Later in the day, (as in noon), we arrived at a place to help out the homeless. Since we are Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas, we decided to help out others.  We worked from 12 to 4:30 pm, and throughout the majority of the time I spent working there, I had a lot of fun.  It was great not only because my parents and I got to help the homeless, but because we also got to see my cousin Linnie, who also helped.  We helped the homeless, by serving food and drinks.  Many of the people took food with them when they left.  It was sad to see that they needed so much help, but I am very glad they got help.  Besides just food, everyone got the opportunity to take a picture with Santa.  Some people also received items such as clothing, games and toys, toiletry supplies and blankets.  While I was working, I met many new people, some of whom came to get help.  It is always so great to attend an event like this, because not only do you get a sense of pride by helping others, you also get to meet many new people (and see others you have previously met).  At one point I took a break from working.  I had been clearing trash from tables, filling people 's requests for food and filling people's cups with punch.  I had  needed a short break.  I got to talking with two ladies who came to get food.  It was great to meet them because they told me about what they did (in terms of creative things) and I got to tell them about my mom being a jeweler.  I also got to learn about one of the lady's relatives who is about my age that seems very interesting.  It is great that I got to attend this kind  of event, because if I hadn't I would never have met these people.  When I went back to working, many people asked me for food.  Everyone really appreciated my work, especially these two men.  They gave me a candy cane and each of them gave me a hug as they left.  It was so nice of them to do this, especially since they were the ones that came to get help.  Oh, before I forget, I wanted to let everyone know that I did not actually really get any of the music stuck in my head as I thought I would have.  The music there was great.  Also, while the music was playing, there was this one slightly elderly man who danced the majority of the time. He had a walker with him and at times he would use it.  The best part was that he had these amazingly cool, funky, and also funny looking hats and costumes.  He made everyone laugh and was very nice when you talked to him.  He was there the whole time, waiting for a friend who sadly never did show up.  Alright, time for a new paragraph.  Sorry this one was so incredibly long.

After we helped out, my cousin, my parents and I went out to eat a nice restaurant.  After we ate, we waled around the area before going to see a movie.  While we were walking, I saw a man on the street who had one of our blankets wrapped around him while he sat under a building rooftop in the slight rain.  I wanted to help him, but my money was fora book.  Also, it is not always the best idea to give homeless people money, because many a time they use it for cigarettes or alcohol. Sad I know, but the truth.  This is why we must help them by giving supplies and also teaching them ways of living.  I would like to create a nonprofit organization when I get older, because there are so many people in the world who need help and I have ideas on how to help them  Well, after we walked, we went to see the movie Country Strong.  While it wasn't the greatest movie, it had good singing.  The ending was sad.  After the movie, I bought partly with my dad's contribution of money, a nice blank journal that I can use for the drawing.  Yesterday, I went with my mom on a walk to Hallmark and bought a beautiful journal for writing in.  Well that is about it.  May I have luck with starting a nonprofit organization when I am older and  today may I have fun when I go to LACMA (an art museum) for Fine Arts.  Bye for now.  I hope everyone has a marvelous, wonderful rest of the day.

Tracking Santa and Happy Holidays

To all Santa lovers:
If you wish to track Santa on his path go to noradsanta.org
Even though I am Jewish, every year my dad and I track Santa on this website.  It is the only source you can trust to track Santa.  Most likely when Christmas is over, a video related to their tracking Santa in 2010 will show up on the website.  Where I live is one of the later places that Santa comes to later on.  Since it is late , I will look on the website tomorrow hopefully.  NORAD has already started tracking Santa's path.  They actually started just a few minutes ago.  Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day or night and to all who celebrate, I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

P.S.  Hope I won't get too many more holiday songs stuck in my head , although I know I am bound to as I going to help serve the homeless who are treated to holiday music while we serve. That will be a lot of fun to help them, although I don't know if getting all those songs stuck in my head will be.  Helping others will definitely be a trade-off though and make me feel proud.  I will tell everyone more about this later, along with other things I have to help others and things you can do to.  Again, I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas has a Merry Christmas.  While I do not know whether I truly believe in Santa or not, I do know that I believe in the spirit of Winter and that I love the spirit especially around connecting with others at this season.  Whether or not you celebrate Christmas or not,  I hope you have a marvelous, wonderful rest of your day or night.

P.P.S  Sorry!  By the way, you should check out Google.  It is interesting looking.  They have done something to celebrate, but they have done so in a broad way (at least for tonight they have).  I won't spoil it for you.  Now I am finally done.  Have a great night or day.

Belated, belated Hanukkah to All Who Celebrate!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I have been so busy with homework that I haven't gotten a chance to write anything 'till now.  Well, technically if I wanted to I could have written something, but I tend to do homework interspersed with doing a lot of nothing, well not nothing but thinking and I don't know- reading.   I am kinda obsessed with little kids books.  Okay, enough about me and my life.  I just wanted to say that I am very sorry I didn't wish anyone else who is Jewish a Happy Hanukkah when it was Hanukkah.  I tend to be belated on the holidays it seems like, instead of on time.  It is that I want to say Happy Holidays or Happy certain holiday it is, but I do not always have time to due to homework or that I wish to but I can not because I am cleaning or something.  But I should have any big excuses, because they are really getting old.  Oops for starting a sentence with but.  Well that is all for now.  I hope everyone has a great rest of the day or night.

To all Americans-- Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone!  Sorry that it has been so long since I last posted.  I checked my stats and did not see any new views, so I figured that I should probably write something.  Also, it is past Thanksgiving for Americans.  I say for Americans because so many of my viewers do not live in the United States (of America).  Anyway, the past few days I have been cleaning my house with my family as every year (we have lived in California) we've had a Thanksgiving dinner at our house.  It is a lot of preparation but two great things result: a sparkling clean house and yummy smelling (and tasting) food.  This year for the first time in twenty years my mom is making a complex, delicious dish called Stuffed Baked Eggplant from a cookbook called The Vegetarian Epicure.  I will post recipes in my next post.

Anyway, you should try to check out Google.com If you type in Thanksgiving 2010 Google sign, then you might find it.  Click on it and a page with six pictures and a recipe will appear.  Scroll through the pictures to find recipes for different dishes.  Unrelated, everyone should thank our president Abraham Lincoln for making Thanksgiving a national holiday.  Lots of us are happy that we do not have to work or go to school.  I think one of the things that I can wish for is that I get to see family, and that this year I get to see my mom's friend and her husband, which I am excited about.  Yay!  I am thankful for many other things.  I am thankful that I have the right to learn and the opportunity to learn (and become educated). Also, I am thankful that I live in a safe neighborhood, am not homeless or malnourished, and that my life is pretty easy and fun.  This year I am donating my charity money and earned money to a charity called Plan.  They are based all over the world and help people and towns in all kinds of ways, such as giving girls an opportunity to be educated, access to clean water, training in different types of jobs, education on health issues, and many other things.  I am very glad that there are many organizations that help people around the world.  Not only do they help those who need it, they also let people create a bond with others they wouldn't have otherwise and that they create a feeling of  joy.  I love being able to help others, and I hope that one day the world will in peace, happiness, health and sustainability.  I hope that everyone who is able to help others, helps others, and those who are in need get the help they need.  Obviously I know that the world can be healed in a day, but I know that it can be healed.  Please note that this post was first written on November 24th and edited on November 28th.  I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day or night and that all Americans had a great Thanksgiving.

P.S.  To anyone who braved the the Black Friday  I hope you got some good deals (and items.)   To anyone participating in Cyb-er Monday, be sure to check out http://www.etsy.com/ and http://www.artfire.com/

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to anyone who celebrates it.  To anyone who has already celebrated, I hope you scared all the ghosts away.  By the way, you should check out www.google.com
Google looks very cool, and it is featuring Scooby Doo. To the ghosts of Halloween and all that we are supposed to frighten on this day: BE SCARED!  We mean it!  Well, I am off to finish everything before I go trick-or-treating with friends. To every one else, hope you have a marvelous, great rest of the day or night.

Michigan

Hello. I was able to get to the computer, so I am here to post something. By the way incase you are wondering why the title is Michigan, it is Michigan, because that is where I am staying now. No I am not going to tell you where in Michigan... don't ask. We have been staying at this cool cottage, which I think I already mentioned in my previous post, so enough of that being mentioned.

Yesterday my Dad and I went to some cool gardens. They had all kinds of trees and beautiful flowers many of which were labeled (so you could know what they called a certain plant, tree, or flower). While I was there I took many photos and I was able to take some phots of animals in them. I will make the photos larger on my computer so you can see the animals better. Two birds, a chipmunk/ a moth or butterfly, and dragonfly were nice enough to let me take photos of them without getting too frightened and flying or scurrying away. Infact, the dragonly let me get really close to him or her. A male cardinal and a(n) yellow finch were the two birds I took photos of. They are really pretty birds and I love their plumage. When I get back to California, I will edit my photos from Michigan and put them up. Oh well if I already said this;I will say it again. Be sure to look for animal photos. By the way, the yellow finch was on a flower, the cardinal was on a branch of a tree, the chipmunk on soil, the dragonfly on a leaf, and the butterfly/moth on a flower.

Nature is so beautiful and happy(most of the time, except when someone is hunting someone or weeds overtake a pretty flower). I love nature. Early this morning was supposedly the best morning/ night to watch for "shooting stars". Well there is way more for me to tell everyone, but I have to go. I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day or night. May your day be delightful!

A few things

Sorry I have not been on blogger in a while. I am going to post up some more photos soon and actually post up the recipe I talked about posting up. I wanted to thank everyone who commented. Yay for all the comments. Thanks to everyone who previously commented and to those who commented just a little while ago. You see, got two more comments just recently so, that is why I said what I said in my previous sentence; Just to let everyone I am thinking of setting my up my own Etsy shop. I will have to figure out how I can legally do that, since I am still young. You are technically allowed to have a shop or be a member of etsy as long as you parent watches what you say online or something like. Anyway, I will stop boring everyone. Again, I wanted to thank everyone for all the marvelous comments. I hop everyone has a wonderful rest of the day or night.

Blog Design Change and my parent's anniversary!!!!

Hi everyone. I changed part of my blog title. Hopefully my Welcome to(...) sign is more visible. If it is not please let me know in the comments section. I have to do some math homework, assigned by my parents, and do a few other things, so I may not be on blogger(on my blog) for very long today. By the way, I wanted to wish my parents a Happy 16th Anniversary! Yay for them. I think that it's great that they have been together for so long. Not as long as my grandparents on my dad side were, but still a very long time. Yay!!!!!!!!!! Yay for a bunch of exclamation marks. Ok, I am saying yay too much. Sorry. I am going to post up a few more pictures and also a recipe. I have never posted a recipe before, but have seen many recipe books, and other people's blogs so I have the jist(how do you spell that word?) of what I am supposed to do. Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day or night, and to anyone who has an anniversary or special day today, congratulations and woohoo to you. (I did not use yay. Oops I just used it in the example.)

Hello!

Hi everyone.  I just wanted to say hi.  I have been busy with marching band and summer school, so I haven't had much time to post.  Sorry.  During band today, the sky was so amazing.  There was a rainbow which lasted for a while and the sky was swirled in all different shades.  The clouds were such magnificent colors and it felt as if you were in a painting, because the sky didn't even look real.  It  was amazing to watch the sky be so pretty.  Whenever I got chance to stop from my marching(left hace..,.right hace...parade rest... etc.), I looked at the sky.  It was truly the most amazing I have ever seen.  If at all possible, I will ask my mom to take me early before my next band practice to take photos of the sky.  It at least amazed me. Hopefully the sky will be as pretty as if was today.   The shapes, shades, contrast, and intensity, made the sky so beautiful and interesting to look at it.  Well, you know me though, always commenting about the sky.  Well that is all for now.  Hope everyone has a good rest of the day or night.

Mom's new website

Hello everyone.  My mom asked me to tell everyone what the name of her website was, so I shall give it everyone. The name of her new etsy shop is MindieleeSupplyz.  Etsy is a handmade online website, where people can sell all kinds of handmade items and also sell supplies.  It is very different from e-bay.  The link to her website is below.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/mindieleesupplyz

Click on it and says go to this link.  I tested the link, and it works.  If it does not work for you, please let me know.  You can let me know if it works or if does not work by commenting.

Yay! I have promoted!

Yay, I promoted a little while ago. The ceremony was held from 4:00-5:00. When we walk in, the band has to play a song over and over. I am so glad that I am not one of those people who have to play. I had to last year and the previous year, and it sucked. Well, yeah, it was pretty annoying to play the same song for twenty minutes straight while all of the people promoting walk in to their seats. There is a dance tonight at eight. I will take my camera and maybe put up a few photos. Yay! I am so happy. It is so cool that I am now an official promoted eighth grader or high schooler (oh well if that is not a word), if you wish to say. So yeah. That is all for now. I meant to put up pictures earlier, but forgot, so here they are now.

Promotion and out of of school early

Hello. Today we went home around 10:15-10:25 A.M. about. We had promotion practice at the official place that we are promoting at. We have to go back at 3:30 P.M. today. It seems so weird. I can't believe I almost done with middle school. Well I mean that I am almost going to high school! It just seems so weird. I know that I will hopefully enjoy it, but it still seems like a fantasy-so unreal... but it is. After the promotion, there is an eighth-grade promotion dance. I am going. It is my first dance for a school related event. Well, yeah, even though I like to dance, I do not typically go to the school dances or the ones that the city sponsors. So since I have a bit of time, I am going to post some pictures. Tomorrow I have to get ready for a party that I am having at my house, so I probably won't be able to get on. Sorry. Anyway, before I repeat anything I have said already, I will go end the words for this post. I hope that everyone has a wonderful rest of the day or night when they are done looking at my blog.

New Look!

How do you like the new look? I am still working on it, but I hope it looks nice. I wish that some of what I originally had, would still be here, but it doesn't all work that way. Sorry if that just sounded confusing. Ugh, well i really hope that i can get it back to the original partly. Sorry the you tube video thing is not working. I will have to figure that out tomorrow. Well, tomorrow I promote from eighth grade. I am so excited! I can't believe that I am going on to high school next year/soon! I got my dress and shoes. Sorry for the boring sentence. My mom is doing my hair and nails. I got this really pretty butterfly clip for my hair. I love butterflies. I am practically obsessed with them! I could write more, but that is all for now. I will write more tomorrow (hopefully). I hope everyone has a great, marvelous rest of the day or night.

Dad's Day!, JD Souther,Karla Bonoff, Kenny Edwards seen on my Birthday

Now I am one year older.  Technically I was one year older yesterday, but whatever.  Yesterday, after we made blueberry muffins and I found this exquisite dress, my family and I went to see a few famous people.  Yeah, I know you probably do not care that I made muffins, but oh well.  We got to listen to Karla Bonoff, Kenny Edwards, and J.D. Souther.  All three of them of them were great.  The lady introducing them could not pronounce Karla and J.D.’s names for anything, but at least she was lively.  Also, we care more about how the people themselves, than the person who introduces them.  I did my best to take pictures, but every time I did, the background came out really weird.  I will edit the photos and post the decent ones (photos) online.  After the performance, all three of them were signing the CDs that they sold at this free concert.  My mom bought one of J.D. Souther’s albums, and told him that it was my birthday.  Then the coolest thing happened:  He shook my hand!  A charming grasp and best of all completely free!  My dad bought a Karla Bonoff CD for me, and she signed it and wrote a message to me.  All three of the performers were very polite, and it was so cool that I got to have their signatures! I will take pictures of the signatures, and post them online.  I am so glad that my mom suggested us going to this amazing, free concert, because if she had not, I would never have been able to see these wonderful people, get their signatures, and shake J.D. Souther’s hand.  This was a lovely charming event, and hopefully there will be more of these experiences to come!  Now that I have told you that, I hope you are not too jealous, if you are at all jealous. Now on to the next topic.

Before I forget, I just want to wish anyone who is a dad, a Happy Father’s Day!  I hope it is a great father’s day, and if it is not, I am sorry.  May it turn into a wonderful, happy Father’s Day for you.  Wish your father a happy father’s day, if you have one.  Of course, this is your decision.  I am just suggesting for you to do this. May everyone else also have a wonderful, marvelous day.

Almost a year older, pictures, and my mom's new site

Hi everyone!  Tomorrow is my birthday, I am so excited.  Yay!  I am not going to tell you how old I am turning. We had an internet safety thing at my school, and so I want to follow some of what it says, as it could only be helpful in preventing me from danger.  Ok, that sounded slightly weird, but I do not care.

We promote from eighth grade on June 24th.  I have to still buy my dress.  Well so, I still have to put up pictures also.  Maybe I will be random, and put a picture of a birthday cake.
By the way, today my mom set up a new shop on Etsy, which sells jewelry supplies, in case anyone is interested.  I am going to wait till she says it is okay for to put up the name of the website on my blog.  If you need jewelry supplies, you should go to her other shop which also has lots of supplies' along with beautiful jewelry.
Yay!  I just randomly felt like saying yay. What the heck, no one really cares, do they? , but oh well, I felt like putting that there, and so I shall.  Sorry if I have bored you at all by this blog post.  I mean it.  Well, when I have so more free time, like tomorrow on my birthday, I will post a few more pictures.  I have them on my camera; I just need to upload them.  Then everyone will be able to see more pretty sunsets and some flowers.  Today has been an interesting day.  May everyone have a marvelous, spectacular rest of the day after they are done here on my blog.
