Stormy Weather and the Holidays

It was raining earlier, and has been for the past week. Well actually, not on every day, but on a fair amount of days so far. Excuse me for saying raining, for if it were raining the gutters might clogged, and the wind would be howling as the telephone would be rattling, swaying up and down. So really it was only a slight drizzle, which of course brought depression to some while others twirled, and jumped excitedly. Actually, I did not see anyone jump and go spin out in the rain. My friends debated about whether we liked the rain, while all huddled closely together under the shelter of the cafeteria's roof. One day we sat outside by classrooms, but we did not get wet. Oh, and now I should probably stop talking about my friends, and get the good things. So since I am Jewish, (reformed) I celebrate Hanukkah. If I were Orthodox I would not be on the computer right now, but really it is only a few hours away from when the sun sets and Shabbat (Sabbath), our religious service (day of rest) ends. Okay, that may not have made sense, but I am going to make sense now.

For Hanukkah we light a menorah. There is one candle to light all the others, but on the first of the eight nights you only light eight candles. So yesterday, as we were lighting the candles, on the Menorah, Candelabra, Hannukia/ Chanukia (what ever you want to call it), my dad and I were wearing hats. I chanted the prayers written in Hebrew, and then my parents and I lighted the candles. Next we opened presents. My dad still wearing his hat made a dopey face because he had just received gray pajamas and his hat was half broken. The gray pajamas were supposed to represent sadness, because they were gray. He was pretending to be sad. I took a picture of him. However, it took multiple times to take it, because everyone time I was just about to take it, I ended up roaring into laughter. Each time I stuttered, until finally I was able to control my giggling and take the funny picture. Hope you like it. Also, please comment if you have any questions or things you think would be great for my blog. I am not asking for you to tell me up something inappropriate. Another thing to do is please fill out my polls and look at my pictures and poems. When you are done on my blog, I hope that you have a marvelous rest of the day or night.
