Stormy Weather and the Holidays

It was raining earlier, and has been for the past week. Well actually, not on every day, but on a fair amount of days so far. Excuse me for saying raining, for if it were raining the gutters might clogged, and the wind would be howling as the telephone would be rattling, swaying up and down. So really it was only a slight drizzle, which of course brought depression to some while others twirled, and jumped excitedly. Actually, I did not see anyone jump and go spin out in the rain. My friends debated about whether we liked the rain, while all huddled closely together under the shelter of the cafeteria's roof. One day we sat outside by classrooms, but we did not get wet. Oh, and now I should probably stop talking about my friends, and get the good things. So since I am Jewish, (reformed) I celebrate Hanukkah. If I were Orthodox I would not be on the computer right now, but really it is only a few hours away from when the sun sets and Shabbat (Sabbath), our religious service (day of rest) ends. Okay, that may not have made sense, but I am going to make sense now.

For Hanukkah we light a menorah. There is one candle to light all the others, but on the first of the eight nights you only light eight candles. So yesterday, as we were lighting the candles, on the Menorah, Candelabra, Hannukia/ Chanukia (what ever you want to call it), my dad and I were wearing hats. I chanted the prayers written in Hebrew, and then my parents and I lighted the candles. Next we opened presents. My dad still wearing his hat made a dopey face because he had just received gray pajamas and his hat was half broken. The gray pajamas were supposed to represent sadness, because they were gray. He was pretending to be sad. I took a picture of him. However, it took multiple times to take it, because everyone time I was just about to take it, I ended up roaring into laughter. Each time I stuttered, until finally I was able to control my giggling and take the funny picture. Hope you like it. Also, please comment if you have any questions or things you think would be great for my blog. I am not asking for you to tell me up something inappropriate. Another thing to do is please fill out my polls and look at my pictures and poems. When you are done on my blog, I hope that you have a marvelous rest of the day or night.

Accidentally Belated Facts About Thanksgiving

Hi everyone.  I realized that my last post I accidentally saved it as a draft, instead of making it a post.  It had things for Thanksgiving on there. Even though Thanksgiving has been gone for a while, I will tell you a few facts about it anyway.  The crafts and the recipes that come with this post will just have to be for next year. If you wanted though,  you could incorporate the recipe or craft into something for the holidays coming up soon.  The sites I got information from are the Family Fun magazine website, and a few others.  I will cite them so I do not get in trouble. Here are the things that I got.  Also,  I will put up some new holiday things for this month.

Facts:

Was first as a religious holiday
Started in 1621
Took place in Plymouth Colony
Wampanoag Native Americans and Pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving
Sara Josepha Hale wanted it to become a national holiday
Abraham Lincoln declared it as one
First Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924Football was first played on Thanksgiving in 1934
Congress made it an official holiday in 1941
Largest pumpkin pie according to the Guinness World Records was 2,020 pounds
Three towns named after turkey or Thanksgiving

Hope you have a good rest of the day or night.

Hi everyone and Sunsets! plus flowers

Hi everyone.  Reflections pictures we turned in last week.  Mine when we took it to Kinko's came out slightly blurry, however I still turned it in.  I have been inspired lately to take photos, and got a few pretty photos of sunsets.  There was a sunset the other night where the sky was a magnificent blue, with a luscious shade of light blue and purple and a cloud of light pink interspersed, and on top of the blue and purple background.  Do sunsets fascinate you?  Nature fascinates me and it brightens me up and set my emotions.  I love trees and think that we all can help to make the world a better place.  I have done my part by watching little to minimum amounts of TV.  My family also only has a furnace which we rarely use.  It is very true also that if turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth or things of that nature, you will end up saving gallons of water every day.  However,  this does not mean you should stop washing your hands, just make the water level slightly lower.  Another you can do is carpool or walk (or run).  Walking is fun and can help you develop great friends or social connections. ( I know all of this because I love the environment.  I have learned many facts about it.)  Now for the pictures. Thank you for cameras, they are great. I am sounding like a hypocrypt now sort of. Oops. Anyway, as long as you do not use the resources excessively, as many of us do, you are helping the environment. When you are done reading and looking on my blog, I hope that you have a good rest of the day and night.

My family and me

Hi everyone.  Hope you all are feeling well.  I have not yet posted something up on Thanksgiving, but will soon.  I am going to post up a more recent picture of my parents, my brother and me.  I am doing this for my mom and also for all of you out there. I am going to go blog hunting tomorrow.  Thank you  to all of the veterans who served for our country, and do every day.  Even if you are not a "veteran", I hope that you will be honored by relaxation.  Yippee, OK now I am sounding like an adult--oops.  Oh,well. ( Adults are cool so yay.  Huh, why am I being mean to them?  I am sorry adults.)  Okay, now picture.  When you are done on my blog, hope you will have a good rest of the day or night.

On the holidays, we made a yummilicious, scrumptious Gingerbread House out of  many different types of candy.

Many things to talk about

First of all, I would like to apologize that I did not post something up on Halloween.  By the time that I came home from my friends house, it was too late to post anything.  I hope that everyone had a good Halloween.  May the ghosts be scared.  I know I was.  When I was trick or treating, I got scared when people jumped out of bushes and screamed.  I know I am pathetic to get scared by this, but I got scared.  Anyway, I promised that I would put up Halloween info, but I didn't really.  Please forgive me.  Tomorrow or maybe today later I will put up info about Thanksgiving.  Also, I am going to post another poem of mine.  Please let me know, as always if you have anything you would like me to post for you.  I hope everyone has a good rest of the day or night.

Cool New Meanings to lol

Has anyone ever heard the saying lol?   I know it means laugh out loud, but I came up with new meanings to the abbreviation lol.  Lol can mean live on life, live on love, lots of love, love of life, lions of Leon, and a bunch more.  I know some of these are weird, but at least I made something up. Yay!  I am going to find some Halloween pictures and post them up later.  Hope everyone has a marvelous rest of the day or night.

Belated Columbus Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Columbus Day.  Sails-check, compass- check, Columbus- Check!  Okay that wasn't that funny, but oh well.  I should do better- right?  Well, I hope that everyone will look at my earlier posts, and fill out my trivia questionare.  Thanks to Amanda for commenting.  Yay!  This post wasn't intended to have pictures, which is why it is so short.   Hope everyone has a good rest of the day or night.

Hi everyone!  Hope you all are feeling well and having a great day.  Blame the mean day if you are not.  I decided to put up pictures of me when I was younger.  I used to live in Maryland and so all of these photos are from Maryland.  I now live in California.  I don't like the mall though -- I know you might think I'm weird-- that is fine.  I have acknowledged that to many people.

Thank you to my friend Amanda for commenting.  Please feel free to comment everyone.  ( I know that I say this every single time.)  I am putting up more pictures of nature and animals tomorrow.  Also, I am going to go through my Bat Mitzvah pictures tonight, and post some of them up also.  Have a great rest of the day or night.

When I was younger, I loved to crawl into cupboards, and play with all the topper ware.  Here I must have been pretending that there was water in the container.

Instead of Tangled Up in Blues, it's Tangled Up in Socks!

Mm, mm, yummy, yummy Popsicles.

I love this photo of me. It is a mixture of a victorian plus outdoorsy look.

My dad is sleeping and I am on the bed saying Wake up , Wake Up!

Playing Piano-- I love music.

Pretty Sunset

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a while and decided to do so now. The pictures I put up I took with our Nikon COOLPIX , which has 7.1 mega-pixels(not that the mega-pixels matter). We had a really pretty sunset yesterday. I wonder if sunsets get affected by global warming. If you know, please let me know so I can tell everyone,of course saying that you let me know.

I hope everyone gets a chance to look at my blog and comment on what they like and think I can improve.   Do know that some of the photos look similar.

Hope everyone has a great, marvelous, stupendous day.

A Variety of Topics

Hi everyone! I haven't been on for a while because my family and i have been so busy. I had a Bat Mitzvah a few days ago August 22 (okay, maybe more like few weeks). It was too late to blog about it yesterday, so I will just give all the details now. First of all Bat Mitzvah means Commandment of Girl or Girl Commandment. If you are Jewish, which I am you can Bar or Bat Mitzvah at age 13 or 12.

Please be sure to answer my polls. Soon I may put on videos, but for now I just have pictures and polls. Please answer the polls and never hesitate to ask me a question. If you think that you have something with a nice characteristic or look, such as:, beautiful, fascinating, modern, antique, creative, inspiring, (etc.) -- please send me an email. Also, whatever ideas you have on how to make my blog more interesting please let me know of. Thanks and have a great rest of the night or day.

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July ! It is finally sunny here! Yesterday I posted the beautiful pictures of space. Of course I also added a little message to go with it. My dad informed me that it was photos of galaxies. Here are a few pictures of Alaska, Hawaii, and Yosemite. I have plenty of pictures of us in these places and you will be seeing more of them other days. In Hawaii, we saw lots of waterfalls. My brother and dad took a huge hike in Yosemite, but all of climbed to the top of a large rock. A cool thing we did in Hawaii was go on a helicopter. In the helicopter I sat next to the pilot. My parents also went on top of a dormant volcano. Have a Happy Fourth of July. For everyone, even those who are not celebrating your Independence Day today, have a good day.

My brother is standing on part of a cliff that goes out on the picture before this one.

My cousins are in this picture, and my brother is right next to me. Can you guess which one is me?
